This guy just keeps sinking lower

Over the last few days, as the stock market becomes more volatile than ever and the country begins to temporarily shut down, Donald J. Trump and the Republicans in Congress just seem to keep doubling down on being racist. As we sort through so many troubling issues, it is puzzling what their angle is. All it is doing is stirring racism and hate for Americans.

For example, Senator Chuck Grassley, obtuse to real history, tweeted: “I don’t understand why China gets upset bc we refer to the virus that originated there the ‘Chinese virus’ Spain never got upset when we referred to the Spanish flu in 1918&1919.”

That flu originated in Kansas, but the wartime government put a lid on that fact. Asian Americans are being attacked and assaulted because of this hateful rhetoric. Palmer Report already discussed the racist rant from fellow Senator John Cornyn.

Trump now uses the racist term “Chinese virus” at his press conferences each day. CBS News Reporter Weijia Jiang tweeted on Tuesday: “This morning a White House official referred to #Coronavirus as the ‘Kung-Flu’ to my face. Makes me wonder what they’re calling it behind my back.” On Wednesday, asked about reports that a White House staffer used the term “kung flu,” Trump responded that the virus comes form China.

Kellyanne Conway first said it was offensive, but then dismissed it. She said she is married to an Asian, and she seemed to think that was a defense of anything she or the Trump White House might say about the subject. Other than showing their true racism, it is hard to determine why the Republicans are so insistent on referring to the virus in such a manner. When we get through this and vote in November, we must vote these monsters out.
