Trump caught deleting tweet that may have given away his real motivation for reopening the country on Easter

Yesterday Palmer Report brought you the story of how Donald Trump’s real motivation for reopening the country on Easter may have been tied to his own hotel’s planned event. The Trump hotel in Washington DC tweeted back on March 10th that it was planning to host a very expensive Easter Brunch, and Trump would lose significant revenue if his hotel remained in lockdown.

At some point after Palmer Report and others wrote about this, Trump and his DC hotel went back and deleted the tweet in question. This tweet was seventeen days old, and the hotel had left it in place even after the coronavirus lockdowns began. Given the timing, there’s little doubt that the tweet was deleted in an attempt at covering their tracks.

We didn’t manage to catch a screen shot of the tweet before it was deleted, but Twitter user @Blue_Bee_pllntr did:

Given how many different kinds of ulterior motives Donald Trump has for any given thing he says or does, we weren’t certain he was pushing for the Easter target date because of his own hotel’s big event; we were merely pointing to it as a possibility. Now that Trump and his hotel have suddenly deleted the tweet that we wrote about, we’re a little more inclined to believe this really is about his hotel’s event.
