Is Donald Trump just pretending he doesn’t know what the Constitution says? Has he never actually read it? Does he not know how to read? Whatever the reason, Trump is making the bizarre false claim that the President of the United States has “absolute” authority over the governors. Congressman Ted Lieu, a former JAG prosecutor, stepped in to teach Trump a lesson he so richly deserves:
Dear @realDonaldTrump: Today’s #PressBriefing shows, again, that you don’t know what’s in the Constitution. The Framers put the President in Article 2, after Congress in Article 1. And they gave power to judges and states to stop the President.
Please read the Constitution. https://t.co/hEw1Aa3gVz
